Saline Tattoo Removal is a gentle, non-laser method used to lighten unwanted tattoos and permanent makeup. Using a professional tattoo machine and a specialized saline solution, pigment is gradually drawn toward the skin's surface through the natural healing process.
This treatment is ideal for small tattoos (4" x 4" and under) and cosmetic tattoos, excluding eyeliner. Healing is similar to that of a traditional tattoo procedure, with pigment often lifting as the skin naturally exfoliates during recovery.
What to Expect
• Minimum of 3 sessions recommended
• Treatments must be spaced at least 60 days apart
• Results vary based on pigment type, depth, age, and skin characteristics
• Additional sessions may be required
Saline Tattoo Removal requires patience, as results occur gradually over time. It is a popular option for lightening unwanted pigment prior to correction, camouflage, or a new permanent makeup procedure.

An ideal client is an individual who is patient and follows aftercare instructions!
Clients who expect immediate results are not ideal candidates for this treatment.
As a client, you should be realistic in your expectations. You should be expecting a lightening of the tattoo, not a full removal. You should also expect two or three, possibly four procedures before you see desired results. An area of 4 by 4 inches can be treated in one sitting with this method of pulling the ink out. The skin can be re-tattooed after the treatment area heals in 6-8 weeks.
-
During the treatment you should expect some minor bleeding and slight bruising , in some cases the treated area will also be tender for a few days, After the initial treatment, it is normal for the skin to appear red, swollen, or bruised. Do not worry. Slight drainage occurs for a short time after the process is complete, and the tattoo pigment will be more distinct.
Most tattoos will appear lighter after one treatment but generally recommend a few treatments for significant results. Some tattoos may remove within 2 or 3 treatments.
A *minimum* of 8 weeks or longer is required between removal treatments. The length depends on how you heal and the depth of your previous tattoo. We then repeat the treatment until the tattoo fades to your desire or completely. A scab on the treated area will form. During the scabbing process, the ink is pulled to the surface by the scab. The skin should scab over and heal over the course of a few weeks fading will happen gradually over six weeks.
After the scab has fallen off, the skin beneath will appear pink for up to 6 months or longer. You will notice continued lightening for several months following the removal.

Effective, topical anesthetics are used for numbing before and during the procedure. Pain threshold levels vary from person to person and some individuals may even have a resistance to anesthetics making them not as effective. Every effort is made to ensure you remain as comfortable as possible for the entire process. Ideally, you should feel little to no pain, only pressure. Preparing for your procedure in advance really does make a significant difference in how much pain and swelling you may experience. Make sure that you are well rested, sober, hydrated, and have had something to eat prior to your appointment.

During and immediately after the procedure, you may see a small amount of bleeding. This is normal and necessary for creating the “controlled scab.” For the first 24 hrs the skin may appear bright red and gradually begin to scab. During days 2-4, a scab will be present and eventually fall off naturally. The scabbing process is highly important and will contain the pigment that has surfaced from the procedure. After the scab falls off, the skin may appear pink or discolored for a couple of weeks before returning to its original shade by week 4. Sometimes, pigment that has spread underneath the skin may rise to the surface before coming out completely. In these cases, it may appear that the tattoo has “bled” to surrounding tissue. This is all part of the process and will be addressed during future sessions. It is important to remember that saline removal is a process! Desirable results take an average of 3-6 sessions depending on the depth and pigment of the unwanted tattoo, among other factors.
